The New Generations Choir sings once a month at the 10 am Sunday service. It’s a great opportunity for those who enjoy singing but prefer a more flexible commitment than a weekly choir schedule. We rehearse before church on the Sunday before we sing, and again the morning of the service.
Our music tends to be more contemporary and accessible than that of the Senior Choir, and we welcome all ages and experience levels. If you're interested or have questions, feel free to reach out!
A Bit of History
In 2008, Lois Horst, stepped in as director after the founder moved on to new opportunities. Originally called the Generations Choir, it truly reflected its name - with singers ranging in age from 5 to 70, including families singing together.
In those early years, we sang every Sunday from September to June, sharing responsibilities with the Senior Choir across two services. As time passed, children grew up, and for a while we had a Junior Choir to keep younger voices involved. The Generations Choir continued, though in smaller numbers, until the pause brought on by the pandemic.
The New Generations Choir Today
After COVID, the choir was reimagined as the New Generations Choir in its current form. This year, one of our main goals is to grow - by welcoming new members and collaborating with other musicians. We also look forward to joining forces with the Senior Choir on a few special occasions.
Come sing with us - we’d love to have you!
