Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee coordinates major initiatives on behalf of the congregation. We feel blessed by the way our church family participates in caring for their community in different ways. 

Every fall we have a Thanksgiving Food Drive for the Region of Waterloo Food Bank. It is one of the cornerstones of our annual outreach calendar and the need in our community continues to grow. Last year we collected 207 lbs of food between Oct 6-20 and $50, an increase of 39 lbs over the previous year. We will be urging people to beat that record this October.

Oats in Advent is another important program we organize.Our Food4Kids Oatmeal drive collected 3890 single servings of oatmeal. Food4Kids provides nutritious food packages to children under the age of 15 living in food insecure homes in Waterloo Region.

In addition, the Outreach Committee meets to decide on our yearly disbursements. We are able to bless several charitable agencies through our congregation’s donations. We focus on supporting youth; marginalized groups; housing; and the Deanery Refugee Program, to name a few.

Currently the people on Outreach are: Janet Embury, Rochelle Knox, Jennifer Ross, and Tricia Siemens.
