The Church of the Holy Saviour has a long history of active youth ministry through Sunday School and Youth Group.
We participate as a group in children and youth activities throughout the deanery. In addition, we host family friendly board game afternoons, gym nights, movie nights, and participate in collaborative events with other churches.
On Sundays we offer children's programming while intentionally having our younger members worship with us for parts of the service. Children participate in the beginning of the 10am service, come to the front for a Children's Talk, stay for the readings, head off for activities and learning, return as a group to receive communion, and then rejoin our groups to finish up their lessons. At the end of the service, parents are invited to pick their children up from their classes downstairs and then join an all ages coffee hour in the church hall.
New this year is a Sunday School group for youth in Grades 7-12. We meet together during the service on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month. We exit after the Gospel reading, participate in communion with the rest of the congregation, and then stay together till the end of the service. On the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays, youth are encouraged to remain in the sanctuary throughout the service or to take advantage of opportunities to participate in the general church community through volunteer activities such as Sunday school helper for the younger classes, Livestream support, coffee hour helper, or Altar servers.
