The Dinner/Movie crew are encouraging the wider church community to join them in watching a film that may be of interest to all, including youth and young adults.
This month's movie is the 1959 Hollywood classic, Ben-Hur, starring Charleton Heston and directed by William Wyler, and based on the 1880 novel, Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ. The film tells the story of a young Jewish aristocrat in the first century A.D. who is betrayed by his Roman friend and sold into slavery, making his way to freedom and the pursuit of revenge. Along the way he encounters someone who challenges his idea of vengeance and transforms his life in a profound way. Winner of 13 Academy Awards, the all-time record it shares with Titanic and Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Ben-Hur is exciting, moving, and one of the best Hollywood films that portrays the story of Jesus.
We will begin the film at 4:30pm in the church hall, taking a break during the film's intermission for pizza and discussion, and then concluding the film's second part after. Suggested contributions for pizza are $5 per person.
