Dinner and a Movie

Dinner and a Movie is a monthly gathering for food and conversation with a movie chosen by Anders Bergstrom and hosted by Chuck Erion. It began in the fall of 2016 and runs on the last Saturday of the month. We meet at W-K Mennonite Church, 15 George St, Waterloo. If you are new to Holy Saviour, feel especially invited to this "food, fellowship and film" night.

THIS MONTH'S MOVIE:  A minister of a small congregation in upstate New York grapples with mounting despair brought on by tragedy, worldly concerns and a tormented past. This 2017 drama was written and directed by Paul Schrader and stars Ethan Hawke. Shrader has written and directed of more than 28 movies including Last Temptation of Christ and Taxi Driver. Anders recently wrote an article on First Reformed for the Canadian Journal of Film Studies. His review of  First Reformed is here.

This will be the final D&M this spring.
